About THE FOUNDER

Max Bessmertny grew up in Macau, where the clash between East and West inspired his storytelling. His body of work includes his debut feature, "The Violin Case", over 20 narrative shorts and documentaries, music videos and dozens of virals ads, commercials and art projects all over the world.

In 2013 Max founded PONTUS MAXIMUS PRODUCTIONS, to write, direct and produce films. Notable works include "Tricycle Thief" which was the first Macau made film to World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2014, winning the 2015 Kodak Gold Award, "Dirty Laundry" which premiered at We Are One (Tribeca in 2020) and "The Handover" which won best local entry at the Macau Int'l Short Film Festival.

Max has worked on numerous commericals and ads namely for City of Dreams, directing, writing and producing over 40 videos for food and beverage outlets which resonated with audiences and went viral.
He is always looking for new challenges and collaborations.
